Why Choose a Conservatory From Budget Designer HomeWorks?
Conservatories have come a long way from the single-paned rooms that were freezing in winter and overheated in summer. At Budget Designer HomeWorks, every conservatory is a high-performance living space that feels comfortable all year round.
Our modern systems use the same advanced materials and engineering as our premium home extensions, giving you a space that’s bright, efficient and built to last. From the first site survey to the final finish, every detail is carefully considered to suit your property and Northern Ireland’s unique weather conditions.
We use Blue Activ self-cleaning glass and ClimaGuard 1.0 glazing as standard, providing outstanding clarity, insulation and solar control. Each frame is steel reinforced and multi-chambered for exceptional strength and energy efficiency. All structural and load-bearing assessments are carried out during the design stage, with foundations tailored to your location and exposure.
- All-season comfort: Modern thermal technology keeps your new conservatory warm in winter and cool in summer for true year-round use.
- Superior glazing: Blue Activ and ClimaGuard 1.0 glazing deliver excellent insulation, light transmission and self-cleaning properties for low maintenance living.
- Engineered strength: Steel reinforced, multi-chambered frames provide exceptional durability, energy efficiency and security.
- Expert foundations: Every project includes professional ground and load assessments to ensure structural integrity from the ground up.
- Built for Northern Ireland weather: Designed to handle everything from coastal salt air to inland winds, your conservatory will perform beautifully for decades.

Orangery Extensions: Light, Warmth & Architectural Presence
An orangery is the perfect balance between the openness of a conservatory and the comfort of a sunroom. With a high performance glass roof and a beautifully designed internal pelmet, an orangery feels bright and spacious, yet warm and inviting all year round.
Each orangery is custom designed to suit your home, with the option to include brick or rendered pillars, decorative internal cornices, full height glazing, and integrated downlights for a soft, elegant finish. The internal pelmet is plastered to flow seamlessly with your existing interior, giving the room the look and feel of a sophisticated living space rather than a simple add-on.
Our orangery roof systems are engineered for both efficiency and comfort. Passive ventilation through ridge and eaves vents ensures steady air movement, while optional self-regulating ridge vents open automatically once the room reaches a certain temperature for natural cooling during warm weather.
- All-season living: A bright, welcoming room that stays comfortable throughout the year, whether you use it as a dining room, sitting room, kitchen extension or garden lounge.
- Custom architectural detailing: Choose from brick pillars, smooth or moulded cornices in different depths, rendered finishes or full length glass for a contemporary feel.
- Warm, integrated interior: The internal pelmet allows for downlights and creates a softer, room-like feel that blends naturally with your existing home.
- Passive ventilation technology: Built-in ridge and eaves vents encourage natural air circulation, helping regulate temperature without constant heating or cooling.
- Made to measure for your home: Every orangery is designed specifically for your property, with foundations, roof structure and glazing tailored to match site conditions and exposure.
- Guidance with planning: Most orangeries fall under conservatory guidelines and do not require planning permission, but our team will assess this for you and help with any necessary building control submissions.

Conservatory Materials & Finishes
Every conservatory and orangery we build is made to measure and finished to suit your home’s character and your own personal style. You can choose from a range of glazing types such as double or triple glazed units, acoustic glass or specialised glazing for medical needs.
Frame materials include uPVC and aluminium which are selected for durability, energy efficiency and long term performance in the harsh Northern Ireland climate.
Your conservatory or orangery will not look like something added on, instead it will look like it has always belonged to your home.- uPVC Conservatory: Low maintenance, strong and thermally efficient, available in smooth or foiled finishes including white, black, anthracite grey, oak and more. Decorative roof finials can be added for a traditional look, or clean modern lines for a contemporary feel.
- Aluminium Conservatory: Slim, high strength frames with dual powder coated colour options. Ideal for coastal homes in Bangor, Donaghadee and Groomsport where corrosion resistance matters.
- Custom Colour Options: Choose from classic shades or more distinctive finishes such as Chartwell Green or Agate Grey. Frames can be dual coloured, for example anthracite grey outside with white inside to keep interiors bright.
- Glazing Choices: Available in double or triple glazing, with options including UV protection, acoustic control, toughened safety glass and our ClimaGuard 1.0 glazing which provides excellent warmth and clarity.
- Windows and Doors for Every Style: Design your room using our full window and door ranges, including single doors, French doors, aluminium bifolds, triple track sliding doors and traditional sliding sash windows for period homes.
- Tailored to Your Home: Whether your property is in Belfast, Lisburn, Newtownards or along the Ards Peninsula, every element is chosen to complement your architecture and enhance the look and feel of your space.

Questions About The Service
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

It depends on the size, layout and position of your extension. Many projects fall under permitted development. During your design appointment we will check your property, advise clearly on what is required and if needed we will guide you with building control and planning submissions in Northern Ireland.

We offer both uPVC and aluminium. Each material has its own strengths and can be supplied in a wide range of colours including white, black, anthracite grey, chartwell green and agate grey. Dual colour options are also available where the inside and outside finishes differ.
Our conservatory roofing systems include built-in ventilation features such as eaves vents and ridge vents to regulate temperature naturally. Solar reflective and self cleaning glass options are also available to manage heat gain and reduce maintenance.

Yes. If you want your new room to flow directly into your existing home, we will manage any structural knockouts and heat loss calculations required by building control. This ensures your open-plan layout is safe, compliant and comfortable all year round.
We use ClimaGuard 1.0 glazing as standard for energy efficiency. Blue-Activ self cleaning glass is available for minimal maintenance. Safety, privacy, acoustic and triple glazing options are also available depending on your needs.

Yes. A well-designed, well-built extension adds both functional living space and long-term property value. Timeframes vary by design and size, but most projects progress smoothly from survey to completion within a matter of weeks. We confirm a clear timeline at the quotation stage, so you always know what to expect and when. We do not rush work, and we do not disappear mid-project – your build stays on schedule.
