Windows and Doors In Bangor, Northern Ireland
Our clients have been carrying out extensive renovations on their home in Bangor NI.
We were brought on board throughout the improvement journey to carry out all of the construction and upgrade works and install the new windows and doors.
The clients asked for uPVC vertical sliding sash windows with built in thermal efficiency, security and noise reduction, and this is just what we delivered.
Our vertical sliding windows are designed with mechanically jointed sashes and frames with run through sash horns, which replicates the heritage features of the timber box sash.
Utilising a heavy bottom rail in the sash allows the flow of symmetrical internal sight lines.
Anthracite grey (RAL 7016) was chosen for the external frame colour, with white picked for the internal finish.
The window frames have a woodgrained foil to mimic the depth and character of timber, but boast almost zero maintenance!
Our clients opted for astragal bars which give a beautiful aesthetic flow throughout the property.
Pas 24 safety police approved locking systems are built into every window, and we added internal sash jammers for heightened security.
The opening jammers limit the movement of the sash to only 4 inches in the unlikely event the high security locking mechanisms are ever compromised.
Toughened, mixed weight acoustic glass with our Climaguard coating was used, which will help improve solar heat gain and block out external noise.
As our clients opted for 40mm triple glazed units, krypton gas was chosen for optimal thermal efficiency.
Krypton is a much denser gas than argon and 12 times denser than air, making it the perfect choice for the slimmer chambers inside triple glazed units.
These glass units were completed with a thermo spacer bar, and now achieve a U value of 0.6.
Our clients had beautiful stained glass units they wanted to incorporate into their new front door.
These were sent off to our glazing specialist who carefully cleaned and repaired them, bringing their beauty and lustre back to life.
The stained glass was then encased inside double glazed units before installing them into the new door frames.
A solid panel door was chosen from our 70mm collection, and a beautiful sunburst fanlight designed for above the door.
Once the external render had been painted, we revisited to finish the guttering, fascia and downspouts. All were replaced in anthracite grey (RAL 7016) to match the new windows and sunroom, and the roofline was finished in high grade, powder-coated aluminium.
