Glass Veranda In Bangor

This Glass Veranda in Bangor was recently designed and built to our clients specifications. 

Wanting an all year outdoor area to enjoy their garden, they did not want a closed-in conservatory, but more of an open shelter with glazed walls to seamlessly integrate with their outdoor space. 

Approaching 3 major veranda installers, they were told their build could not be completed due to site technicalities.

The shape of their project area was a little unusual, as the main roof of the property and the garage roof overlap and slope in different angles.

With the help of HR Jess Architecture, Budget Designer HomeWorks came up with the perfect solution.

The design process was critical due to the shape and style of the new structure, ensuring all rigorous building safety standards were met.

We carefully excavated the beautifully landscaped garden, keeping damage to the existing patio minimal, and to allow installation of the drainage valley.

The Glass Veranda in Bangor was constructed with a heavy gauge, galvanised, powder coated steel skeleton, which will withstand the extremes of the Northern Ireland weather.

Extra deep foundations were embedded into a concrete foot plate, to counter the possibility of wind uplift. 

Specialist UVA/UVB high grade sun filter glass was used in both the roof and side walls, offering extra protection for medical sensitivities. 

The glass also has self cleaning properties, keeping this structure low maintenance too!

Our clients patio was re-laid around the veranda, and the internal walls were finished with beautiful cream tiles.

New rosewood sliding patio doors were installed to match the veranda, and new energy saving rosewood uPVC windows and roofline were installed throughout the rest of their property. A striking new PVC front door with sandblasted glass completed their home improvement project.
